1. Which heater is best for a living room?
A Selvik infrared panel. It warms furniture and people directly and dries the air less. For a living room choose a stronger model such as INFRA 900, depending on the floor area.
2. Does a humidifier help with allergies?
It helps when the air is dry, because dry mucous membranes are more easily irritated. Pollen and dust are handled by a HEPA air purifier, not by a humidifier.
3. How does a HEPA air purifier work?
The HEPA filter catches fine particles such as pollen, dust and mites. Activated carbon takes odours. The filters have to stay clean, otherwise the unit only moves air.
4. Do I need a dehumidifier in the basement?
Yes, if the room stays damp or smells musty. Condensing models work best above about 15–18 °C. A colder cellar or garage needs a unit suited to low temperatures.
5. Which fan is the quietest?
A bladeless fan. It is quiet enough for a bedroom, although no fan is completely silent, because it moves air.
6. How much electricity does an infrared heater use?
At most its rated power while it is heating: INFRA 400 uses up to 0.4 kWh per hour, INFRA 900 up to 0.9 kWh. With a thermostat the panel cycles, so the real use is lower.
