Where to place a fan in hot weather
Point it at an open window. At night it can push warm indoor air out. In the morning it can pull cooler air in. The useful direction changes with the hour.
In a bedroom, bounce the stream off a wall, use night mode and a timer, and do not blow on the body for hours. In a living room, oscillation covers more seats. Keep the fan away from a heater. During the hottest hours, close windows and blinds so you are not stirring hot outdoor air.
